Not worth reading
AI, inaction, and what it means to keep moving.
A species surpasses human intelligence. Starts solving questions beyond human understanding. Pushes human productivity ever further. It’s funny because I was recently reading the book, Sapiens, really good book btw. Homo sapiens haven’t been here for long. This growth was supposed to happen as a natural compounding result. The trend of agriculture shift, industrial growth, AI was a natural next step of compounding, there could have been other ways, but some growth was supposed to happen. But does this step eliminate the species itself? That is a question only AI can answer. Aligning AI? Makes sense, because if we have a superhuman, of course we wish him to be a superman and not homelander.
This does make us imagine a world of movies, we can never again be the main characters of the globe, possibly the last humans to be the smartest ones on land, we are not getting that title back now. Will we ever see GPT 10 as some commercial model? I hope so. But I probably do think OpenAI as an entity will be a lot different, holding stronger unreleased models, or maybe AI starts training itself. What will that work look like?
I think it’s worth noting that if this growth happens, we will not be able to stop it. It’s inevitable, not like movies, someone will do it. You cannot control the creativity of humans, you can slow it down, but this, this is the next step. What we can control is how we achieve it. A lot of questions still remain unanswered, I look forward to knowing answers to many of them. I want humans and AI to co-exist. What’s the wish of AI? Does it want more of itself? We are biologically made to self-replicate, grow, multiply, but AI? It does not have to be. It’s immortal. Eternal. If it wishes to prosper, well then it will be the humans to blame for it thinking that way.
When ChatGPT first came, one of the greatest things happened to me. I stopped believing that some questions had no answers. There must be some way, I thought, and the machine always satisfied that in some way. One day I wish it to answer my questions of space travel? Immortality? Will the consciousness shift from a biological being to something in bits and 0s? Now that is where I stop imagining now.
This blog was originally supposed to be about Inaction. My lazy arse is unable to sit down and work. It reaches for Youtube the first thing in the morning, sometimes reddit, sometimes X, sometimes Chess, sometimes just to act productive it decides to open Mail. It can’t eat without having some eye candy. I just can’t seem to find something worth putting my time into. SaaS just feels depressing these days. Building something is cool and all, but MONEY, I need it to pay my subs this month. I thought it would all be solved by the god-gifted, Unimaginably impressive GPT-6, but looks like my cave mind is not aware that this golden spear still needs a good throw to kill a bear.
It’s not hard to change, It’s just I don’t see myself as a productive guy these days, it’s all weird and shallow in my head, nothing feels concrete and believable. I thought the days of adolescence were gone, and they are, but why is my brain still fumbling around with daydreaming and sleepiness at 4pm. Again I am blaming it on something else, maybe it’s the first action in the morning, watching youtube while eating, I need to start with that. Get that fixed, so that sets momentum for the rest of the day. Get shit together, one year ago, I asked GPT how to earn with SaaS, I talked about X SaaS creators, TikTok (/ Iphone App makers) it bluntly asked me whether I wanted to shoot for the stars or make a decent B2B SaaS, with low churn, I said I wanted to go for the stars, and then picked up the shovel and started digging. I set a goal of 15k MRR last June. I failed to make a dime. I set a 10k MRR goal for this year, made 22$ till now. Are these 2 years wasted? You can say I am learning and all, shit takes time, it took marc lou 4 years to get his things rolling and now bro is selling his ass for 20k$, but still it’s inaction. I feel dead inside. If there was a scale for my chances of suicide this year it must have peaked somewhere, not close enough for me to do it.
Anyways, I hope to write tomorrow, you know if tomorrow I get to know that I have cancer and a year to live, I will probably close this PC, and get some 100k out of the savings, and just travel, move to big cities, roam around all day, see people, go to forests, feel the nature, talk to some more people, maybe I will do that once AI takes over and all the jobs are gone.
